Biography

Giovanna Nicora is currently a Research Fellow (RTDa) at the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering at the University of Pavia. She earned her Master’s degree in Bioengineering in 2016 and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics in 2021 from the same university. In 2021, she was selected as a member of the DAAD-AINet, a recognition program for young researchers in the field of Artificial Intelligence promoted by the German government.

Her research focuses on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence systems in the medical domain, with particular emphasis on the development of methods to ensure the reliability of such systems.

She is the instructor of the course “Laboratory of Medical Devices and Systems” in the joint Bachelor's program in Artificial Intelligence, organized by the University of Pavia in collaboration with the University of Milan and the University of Milano-Bicocca. She also teaches the course “Fundamentals of Computer Science” in the single-cycle degree program in Medicine and Surgery “Medicine Enhanced by Engineering Technologies.”
